Conciencia plena (mindfulness) y psicoterapia: concepto, evaluación y aplicaciones clínicas

Resumen

El concepto de conciencia plena (Mindfulness) que ha emergido recientemente en el ámbito anglosajón remite a un estado particular de conciencia promovido por las técnicas meditativas orientales. En este artículo se revisan las conceptualizaciones teóricas de la conciencia plena en el ámbito de la psicoterapia atendiendo a sus componentes, instrumentos de evaluación y mecanismos de acción. Se resumen también las características generales de cinco enfoques psicoterapéuticos que incorporan la conciencia plena: la Reducción de Estrés Basada en la Conciencia Plena (MBSR), la Terapia Cognitiva Basada en la Conciencia Plena (MBCT), la Terapia Dialéctica Conductual (DBT), la Terapia de Aceptación y Compromiso (ACT) y la Terapia Breve Relacional (BRT). Finalmente, se detallan las aplicaciones clínicas de estos enfoques.
