Terapia de Aceptación y Compromiso como Tratamiento de Elección para el TOC: un Estudio de Caso

El trastorno obsesivo-compulsivo (TOC) es uno de los trastornos psiquiátricos con mayor resistencia a los tratamientos y que mayor sufrimiento causa. Por ello, se recomienda la opción combinada farmacológica y psicoterapéutica, en su abordaje. Sin embargo, estos tratamientos de elección aún mantienen tasas significativas de fracaso terapéutico. En este estudio se pretende analizar el efecto de un tratamiento basado en terapia de aceptación y compromiso (ACT), sobre la sintomatología del TOC y la satisfacción con las direcciones valiosas. Para ello, se presenta un estudio de un caso clínico con TOC. Se aplicó un tratamiento basado en ACT en 18 sesiones de terapia individual. Como resultados, se observaron reducciones en psicopatología propia del trastorno, ansiedad y sintomatología depresiva; se suprimió el tratamiento farmacológico; asimismo, se encontraron niveles mayores de satisfacción con respecto a sus direcciones valiosas. En conclusión, este estudio apunta a la aplicabilidad de la ACT como tratamiento de elección para el trastorno obsesivo-compulsivo.
