Eficacia de la terapia cognitiva basada en la atención plena en el tratamiento de la depresión

Resumen

El objetivo del presente estudio es comprobar la eficacia de un programa de ocho semanas de Terapia Cognitiva basada en la Atención Plena (TCAP) sobre población con sintomatología depresiva en el contexto del sistema público de salud. La muestra estuvo constituida por 69 sujetos, de los cuales 38 recibieron un el tratamiento en TCAP, y 31 recibieron la intervención usual en las unidades de salud mental de la isla de Tenerife. En esta investigación, se ha adaptado el programa de Terapia Cognitiva Basada en la Atención Plena (TCAP) desarrollado por Segal, Williams y Teasdale (2002) para prevenir las recaídas en depresión, a pacientes con síntomas de depresión, tanto de larga como de corta duración, que no estuvieran en fase aguda. En este trabajo, se muestra que tal adaptación es viable y ofrece a los pacientes una nueva herramienta para enfrentarse al sufrimiento de un modo más eficaz.
