Los recuerdos en general, y los recuerdos de la infancia en particular, son parte de la identidad personal y de la continuidad del sentido del ser. Los recuerdos representan una narrativa coherente y estable, que conecta el pasado con el presente y cuya función es preparar al individuo para enfrentar el futuro. Según la Psicología Individual de Alfred Adler, el significado de los recuerdos de la infancia no es histórico sino proyectivo, y se encuentra en el presente y no en el pasado. Tratados como metáforas descriptivas del pasado, los RI revelan información sobre el estado emocional del paciente, y sobre su perspectiva sobre sí mismo y sobre la vida. Este artículo presenta el fundamento teórico y el contexto para el uso de los recuerdos de la infancia como técnica proyectiva en la psicoterapia, e introduce una perspectiva integrativa para su análisis e incorporación en el curso del tratamiento.Descargas
