Personal Construct Theory focuses its attention on the active role of the person in construing reality. In that sense, therapy based on this theory is interested on understanding how people experience and construct their reality. In order to explain this process, Kelly proposed the notion of the Experience Cycle which involves five steps organized as a continuum. Any disruption in one of these steps prevents the construction process and it could cause psychological distress. The present paper presents a single-case study in which it is possible to recognize a disruption in one of the steps of the experience cycle. The intervention promoted the revision of the experience cycle and as a result meaning reconstruction.Downloads
