Abstract

This paper analyses the post-COVID-19 situation in higher education, with the aim of studying whether the return to academic normality after the COVID-19 pandemic brings with it a recovery in student performance. To this end, the Business Administration and Management Degree taught by the Faculty of Business Studies at the Pablo de Olavide University in Seville is analysed, comparing the performance of the Degree with that of the different courses and with the subject of Business Statistics II. The analysis is based on the evolution of the following indicators: success rate, performance and academic absenteeism in the last five academic years. The results show a worsening of these indicators in the period of the COVID-19 pandemic and post-pandemic, so that face-toface teaching and assessment are no guarantee of success and performance in higher
education.
