Contribución de la pasión y la procrastinación académica multidimensional sobre el burnout en el ámbito universitario a distancia

Resumen

El presente estudio tiene como propósito examinar la capacidad predictiva que la pasión por los estudios y la procrastinación académica multidimensional tienen sobre el burnout. La muestra incluyó a 1648 estudiantes de primera matrícula en la Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia. Se realizaron análisis de regresión jerárquica en dos bloques. Los resultados revelan que ambos procesos psicológicos influyen en el burnout, pero de manera diferenciada. La pasión, particularmente la armoniosa, actúa como factor protector, mientras que la obsesiva tiene un efecto levemente perjudicial en todas las dimensiones del burnout. La introducción de las dimensiones de la procrastinación académica mejora significativamente la capacidad predictive del modelo: la procrastinación central y la desconexión del trabajo son predictores positivos del burnout, mientras que la pobre gestión del tiempo tiene un efecto inverso en relación con el cinismo, funcionando como protector ante el desapego y la desvalorización del estudio. Este estudio sugiere nuevas líneas de investigación que permitan abordar debates sin resolver sobre la procrastinación académica y conocer su impacto en el bienestar, el rendimiento y el abandono estudiantil.
