The aim of this study was to examine the factor structure of the Eysenck Personality Questionnaire Revised-Abbreviated (EPQR-A, Francis, Brown & Philipchalk, 1992). The development of an abbreviated form of the Revised Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (EPQRA):Its use among students in England, Canada, the U.S.A and Australia. Personality and Individual Differences, 13, 443-449] presented preliminary data on the reliability and validity of the EPQR-A. However, the structure of the questionnaire has not been evaluated yet using exploratory factor analysis. The factor structure of the Spanish EPQR-A was examined in a sample of 263 undergraduate university students. Using principal component analysis, evidence was found for the four-factor structure and for the unidimensionality of the four EPQR-A subscales of extraversion, neuroticism, psychoticism and the lie scale. Results provide evidence for exploratory factor validity of the Spanish EPQR-A.
