Dicindo adeus a Galicia dende o Highland Princess : unha análise da obra de Seoane dende o poema.

Abstract

Dende o momento en que Luis Seoane marcha cara ao exilio, inicia a súa loita para que todos os galegos e galegas poidan vivir mellor nun mundo máis xusto e libre e, por iso, escribe e pinta da súa terra. A través da escrita e da imaxe materializa as súas denuncias políticas, históricas e sociais, con versos e óleos nos que hai tristura, desesperación, loita, pero tamén esperanza por un futuro mellor para Galicia. Analizando o poema Dende o Highland Princess e unha serie de obras pictóricas que repiten en imaxes as mesmas reivindicacións dos versos, o lector/espectador interpreta e comprende á perfección o compromiso social e político do artista.

Since the moment Luis Seoane leaves into exile, he begins a personal struggle so that every Galician can live in a fair and free world. This is the reason why he writes and paints about his own land. Through writing and pictures he materializes political, historical and social complaints. He gets it not only by means of verses and paintings full of sadness, despair, struggle, but also hope for a better future for Galicia. We analyze the poem Dende o Highland Princess as well as a series of paintings having the same reivindicative value as his verses. Through this, the reader can perfectly interpret and understand the social and political commitment of the artist.
