La intención principal de este artículo es presentar los resultados del Proyecto ArtMedGIS (MSCA – H2020, Grant Agreement nº 699818). El objetivo principal de este Proyecto es evaluar los intercambios artísticos en el Mediterráneo tardomedieval a través de la aplicación de los Sistemas de Información Geográfica (SIG), partiendo del estudio de tres elementos preseleccionados: los muqarnaṣ, los arcos de herradura apuntados y las denominadas Masŷid o Masāŷid al-Ŷanā’iz. El uso de los SIG ha permitido elaborar numerosos materiales cartográficos innovadores para analizar diferentes fenómenos ligados a los intercambios artísticos y a la distribución geográfica de los elementos preseleccionados anteriormente mencionados.
