Psychological Impact on Child Victims of Domestic Sexual Abuse

Intrafamilial sexual abuse (ISA) is understood as an abusive form of child abuse and it is even considered a form of violation of human rights. It is a frequent problem in all types of culture and society, without distinction of social stratum, which has a significant impact on the mentalhealth of the victim. In the present work, a systematic review of the scientific literature published during the period 2010-2022 on the psychological consequences in the short and long term of ISA. The systematic analysis revealed different themes related to SIA and its consequences: psychological impact of ISA on the victim, severity of sexual abuse, family environment in childhood, coping and support, adaptation in adult life and characteristics of the abusive subject.
