In a phenomenological analysis, the pose appears as an event that establishes a special relationship between body and image; in that event, the intentionality is directed to the resolution of the body itself as an image. The traditional distinctions between body image and body scheme, and between apperception and presentification, serve to point out some characteristic aspects of the act of posing, but it is the phenomenological analysis of reception and empathy that provides the fundamental insights.Downloads
