El poder terapéutico de las imágenes

Resumen

El objetivo de este artículo —en el marco de los intereses del movimiento integrador en psicoterapia—es mostrar el reconocimiento que se concede actualmente, por parte de numerosos modelos psicoterapéuticos, a las técnicas con fantasía guiada. Aún teniendo en cuenta la diversidad en cuanto a las formas de utilización de la imaginería, se constata, como un elemento común en todos ellos, el poder terapéutico de las visualizaciones mentales. La revalorización actual de las imágenes ha sido posible una vez superada la descalificación watsoniana de las mismas y, previamente, los presupuestos dualistas cartesianos. Al final del artículo se describen dos ejemplos de "acontecimientos de cambio" por aplicación de fantasías guiadas.
