Panic Disorder (PD) is a disrupting mental health problem among healthcare workers caring for Covid-infected patients. Videoconference Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) could be a clinical option for treating this problem. This paper describes the application of CBT by videoconference to treat PD with agoraphobia in a first-line medical emergency resident affected by Covid-19. A one-year follow-up-case report is reported. Therapy was applied in 19 sessions, which were adapted to the vicissitudes that the resident faced during the pandemic. Data shows that this treatment helped reduce the frequency and intensity of PD. Furthermore, it helped address and mitigate catastrophic thoughts, avoidance behaviors and unnecessary uses of medical emergency services. The described effects were maintained during the post-treatment evaluations and the follow-ups at three, six, nine and twelve months. We conclude that videoconference CBT is a potential option for treating PD in first-line healthcare workers, although further research is needed.
