Abstract

The authors make use of Kelly's epistemology of realistic constructivism to shine light on specific characteristics in schizophrenic thought, thought which is viewed by the authors as laking central organization. Schizophrenic thought is characterized by categorical thinking, which overrules any attempt at explicative reality testing; this schizophrenic cognitive style precludes retrospective growth and development of the individual's system of constructs.
