Method “Dialogical Investigations of Change” for the analysis of the Therapeutic Process in Couple Therapy: Translation and application to the Spanish language.

This article presents the translation and adaptation of the method “Dialogical Investigations of change” (DIC) (Seikkula, Laitila & Rober, 2012). to the Spanish language. This method is embedded in the dialogical approach and the Open Dialogue (OD) (Seikkula & Olson, 2005; Seikkula & Trimble, 2005) practice for the psychotherapeutic treatment. The main concepts of the OD are briefly reviewed and the DIC method is presented. One couple therapy session is analyzed to demonstrate its application and results. Result showed a change in the clients’ positions and voices during the therapeutic process. Moreover, the therapists’ strategies to generate dialogue and promote change in therapy, are shown in the results. Finally, the contributions that this method can generate for the analysis of the dialogical characteristics of cases with good and bad outcome, to detect therapists’ strategies to increase the therapeutic outcome and to explore the dialogical process in moments of change in therapy.Downloads
