Perspectivas de la teoría de constructos personales en terapia sexual: reconstrucción de la erección y elaboración de la eyaculación.

La psicoterapia de los constructos personales se ha aplicado muy poco a los trastornos sexuales. En el presente artículo se contrasta el enfoque constructivista con otros métodos alternativos de aproximarse a dichos trastornos, a partir de tres dimensiones relacionadas, y que hacen referencia tanto a (1) si se trata de un trastorno introspectivo o extrospectivo, (2) si la queja se concibe como una construcción personal o como un mecanismo defectuoso, y (3) si la finalidad de la terapia va dirigida a conseguir objetivos personales o bien normativos. Se incluyen a modo ilustrativo los informes de tratamiento de dos pacientes masculinos que presentaban demandas a nivel sexual, y se compara el uso del eclecticismo técnico con la tendencia a la integración en terapia sexual.
