Emotional Intelligence through the Mindfulness Training Program (PINEP; Ramos, Recondo & Enríquez, 2012) has been elaborated with the intention of developing emotional intelligence by employing mindfulness practise and techniques.Disturbing emotions are those which distract us from the present moment and normally provoke a reaction of avoidance or excessive preoccupation.
Mindfulness helps an individual face those emotions with an open, flexible, compassive attitude of non-judgement. It therefore becomes an adequate tool for emotional regulation.
