Methodological integration in psychotherapy procedures with fantas

After a general introduction, the present work offers a first section focusing on the description of the structural elements in fantasy procedures in psychotherapy, and a second section which describes a session with a Guided Fantasy. The first part is structured following Akter Asher’s work in Eidetic Psychotherapy (Ahsen, 1965) which identifies three elements in therapy using images: images, body, and meaning. Some features of each of these three elements need to be taken into account in a therapy session, and thus there is a description of three experiments which were preformed around them. The second part is an example of methodoligical integration with a clinical case of generalized anxiety disorder and non specified personality disorder, describing a key session in the process which presents elements from Gedling’s Focusing, Desoille’s Guided Fantasy, and Neuro-linguistic programming. It finishes with a description about the possibilities and advantages of integrating the findings from different models and methodologies within the framework of the main onirotherapies –as long as they are compatible– since they complement each other and increase the efficacy of the intra-session therapeutic change.Downloads
