This article analyzes the title and career of the Chancellor and Master Register of the Indian Council that The Count of Olivares (the favorite of King Felipe IV), developed from 1623-1643. It begins with a definition of this kind of influence and also with the ability of the favorites in the documents context had to accomplish. After analyzing the development of Indian Chancellor role, the article studies how to taking on the role by the favorite, the attached prerrogatives to the role and the phases that could be grouped in its participation. Thereby, a number of questions about the role played by Olivares in the Indian Council are answered: what could be the motivation of taking on the ministry, what kind of capabilities was added to the appointment and, finally, if through the execution of it, the appointment could influence The Indian Council and The Council of War.
