Abstract

This paper focuses on the concept of nonduality in Oriental wisdom
systems. Firstly, its definitions and relevance in Oriental thought and Eastern philosophy will be discussed. After analyzing the different meanings of nonduality proposed by Loy, we will trace its origin back to Taoism, Buddhism, Zen, Hinduism and Advaita Vedanta. Furthermore, some of the main texts of the aforementioned Oriental wisdom systems will be examined in order to find possible nondual statements.
