Abstract

The constitutional reform to the Judiciary, of September 15, 2024, becomes the most significant change of the last three decades in Mexico since it proposes its total renewal through popular vote. The
unprecedented modification is quantitative and qualitative, because, in addition to reducing the number of
members, it introduces new powers and limitations to the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation, to the magistrates and to the judiciary in general. New institutions with disciplinary and administrative powers are
created, and a transitional regime is included to enable this transformation. The challenge for the implementation of this reform is enormous, for instance, the only aim of this article is to give account of this constitutional milestone of Mexico
