Psychological treatments are maturing on a broad front. In this paper a list of empirically supported psychological treatments for specific target populations is described. Much psychological treatment can be construed as problem-solving, a theme common to many apparently different approaches. In the multicomponent treatments it is necessary to carry out a fractionated distillation of those therapeutic ingredients that are essential and those that are redundant. Recent developments and possible future trends are considered.Downloads
