Imma António as Playwright. A Critical Survey

Abstract

In 1985 María Inmaculada António Souto published Historia do silencio in the Cadernos da Escola Dramática Galega series. Shortly before 40 years have passed since that, few essays have been devoted to a systematic appraisal of her dramatic writing. With this paper we propose an initial and panoramic survey of it, based on a review of pertinent literature and the description of her published texts, read in their context. As a result, we highlight the most substantive aspects of her writing and its contribution in the field of Galician drama.
