DiccioTerm: A Digital Search Engine for the Study of Specialized Spanish Lexicon from the Contemporary Period (1884-1936)

This research note aims to present DiccioTerm, a digital terminological search engine designed and developed by the Neolcyt group for the study of specialized Spanish lexicon found in the editions of the Diccionario de la Real Academia Española (DRAE) published between 1884 and 1936. The platform allows for the analysis of the evolution of scientific, technical, and professional terms, offering researchers the possibility to trace the emergence, development, and variations of these terms. In addition to describing the functionalities and structure of DiccioTerm, the research note highlights its relevance as an open-access resource for diachronic lexicographic research. It also emphasizes its potential for future investigations, as it is continuously being developed to incorporate terms from nonacademic dictionaries of the same period.
