Castilserás : de encomienda calatraveña a patrimonio de la Corona

La Dehesa de Castilserás, zona de escaso valor económico, pero de gran valor estratégico, por su situación junto a las minas de Almadén, tuvo un peculiar proceso histórico convirtiéndose en aneja a las minas y manteniendo una situación de relativa indefinición a favor de la Orden de Calatrava. pero supeditada primero a la explotación minera y después, por merced real, a la tala de leña y pasto de los carreteros. Su situación geográfica determina su evolución jurídica, terminando por incorporarse a la Corona mediante breve papal de Pío VI, que de nuevo plantea un caso singular de incorporación de un señorío de una orden militar a la Corona, por vías diferentes a las que ya en este momento se estaban planteando en los Consejos de Castilla y Hacienda durante el último tercio del siglo XVIII.
The Pasture of Castilserás, an area of low economic value, but with a high strategic value, by its situation next to the Almadén mines, had a peculiar historic process, becoming an annex of the mines, and maintaining a situation of relative indefinition in favour of the Order of Calatrava, but subject, first to the mine exploitation and after to the felling of firewood and pastures for the cart drivers, by a royal grace. On the other hand, its geographical situation, determines its legal evolution, to finish joining the Monarchy through a Papal brief of Pius VI, that introduces again a singular case of the joint of a Military Order lordship to the crown, by different ways from those that already where implemented in the councils of Castile and Finance, during the last third of the XVIII century.
