Abstract

The Second Spanish Republic will be characterized by being a historical period of rupture with the previous monarchical regime. As a legal and political framework of change, and that also represents a variation from the point of view of the scope of ceremonial and protocol not only of the State bodies and their institutions, but also of others of a semi-public or private nature.  One of the first institutions that will be affected by the regulatory change produced by the new republican regime will be the Spanish Red Cross, which will involve the creation of Statutes a few months after the proclamation and the General Regulations of 1933 that the Statute will develop, and in which protocol and ceremonial issues will be regulated. This is therefore a brief analysis of these provisions that appear in the Madrid Gazette.
