Vol. 1 No. 1 (1988): Revista Iberoamericana de Educación Superior a Distancia
Since 1988, Vol. 1(1), this journal has been published with a different format and under the name of Revista Iberoamericana de Educación Superior a Distancia (Ibero-American Journal of Distance Higher Education in Spanish). The AIESAD, the journal’s publisher, aimed to give it a boost by reinforcing all the scientific parameters that could allow RIED to position itself as a well-regarded journal in international indexes and databases in the future. Thus, starting in 1998, the journal adopted a new format and tougher requirements for the articles that would be published. All volumes, both of the old and new formats, are available in open access, online, on this official RIED website.
