Abstract

The uses of ICT (information and communication technologies) in the field of education has carried into the workplace and has a significant impact on training, the length of training periods and knowledge management through e-learning.  In this presentation we will analyse a blended learning model designed along socio-constructivism principles, which steers the pre-service and in-service training process towards practice. In the case analyzed here, the results show that a combination of resources and methods allows for greater flexibility for managing the interaction process between trainers (or participants) and the facilitator (or instructor) as well as for the creation of opportunities for more precise, specific and individual attention. Finally we will discuss some ways of improving the development of blended-learning models for pre-and in-service training, and the need to maintain these models in strategies which favour training by practice and collaborative work aimed at complex problem solving.
