Abstract

The author considers some peculiar aspects of public psyhiatric facilities in dealing with seriously ill patients. The psychotherapeutical duties of the staff cannot be limited to structured psychotherapeutical activity. The ethical aim of achieving the well-being of the patients must be related to the one of preserving the psychological well-being of the therapists.
