The SNS was created in 1986 from the publication of the General Health Law, which establishes the obligation of the State to ensure the health of all citizens (universality) and integrates mental health care, opening the door to the incorporation of psychotherapy as a provision of the portfolio of services of the SNS: A new challenge.
