The Specters of Being between Heidegger and Derrida

This paper carries out a reading of Martin Heidegger and Jacques Derrida taking as key the concept of “spectrality”. It stands out how both authors think the past as an inheritance which must be created and not just as something which would be passively or mechanically accepted. The specter is this “origin” which “is not” and which gives itself as becoming, as task. However, it is precisely this coincidence between them which splits totally Derrida’s thought from Heideggerian experience of the specter’s impossibility, that is to say, of the aporia of its identity.
