Starting with the distinction between pre-tantric and trantric śaivism we propose in this paper an introduction to non-dual Kashmir śivaism, especially with regard to the schools included in the so-called Trika system and also in relation to its great erudite and mystic master: Abhinavagupta (10-11th century CE). Known as the «darśana of reconciliation», the tantric philosophy of Kashmir is characterised by its combination of liberation (mok܈a) and enjoyment (bhoga). For this reason, it implies in many points largely different philosophical attitudes from conservative orthodox Brahmanic philosophy. Sometimes, they even seem to be oppossed to one another. Finally we will describe the three principal ways of liberation and also the non-way according to Abhinavagupta’s celebrated work: Tantrāloka.Downloads
