The objective of this article is to identify the factors that influence the risk of falling into socio-educational downclassing in the cohort of thirty-year-old with a higher degree in Spain, in the current context of economic crisis. Based on the 2011 Living Conditions Survey (LCS) data, a multinomial logistic regression was performed with which we examined the parameters for the population aged from 30 to 39 years with a higher degree. Estimates indicate that the university degree is the main protector against the risk of falling into socio-educational downclassing, although it does not act on its own, but interacts with other types of factors.Downloads
