Efectos de las medidas de protección y asistenciales a víctimas de violencia de género sobre el bienestar psicológico

Antecedentes/objetivo: Legalmente se ha proporcionado a los juzgados, como herramienta para evitar la revictimización en casos de violencia de género, la adopción de medidas de protección y asistenciales a víctimas. Sin embargo, los estudios acerca de su eficacia son inconcluyentes, encontrándose efectos no significativos o de tamaño pequeño. Ahora bien, los efectos sobre los daños psicológicos (victimización) no han sido igualmente estudiados. Se diseñó un estudio de campo para conocer los efectos de estas medidas judiciales, así como de la propia denuncia judicial en el bienestar psicológico de las víctimas. Método: Participaron 136 mujeres residentes en Ecuador, que habían concluido un proceso judicial por violencia de género y que respondieron a un listado sobre la aplicación de 17 medidas de protección y asistenciales recogidas en el ordenamiento jurídico ecuatoriano. Además, se les administró el SCL 90-R para conocer el bienestar psicológico en dos condiciones temporales: medida pre- y post-proceso judicial. Resultados: Los resultados advirtieron que sólo 6 de las 9 medidas de protección se aplicaron de forma productiva, en tanto que las medidas asistenciales sólo se implementaron de modo trivial (insignificante). Sobre los efectos en el bienestar, los resultados revelaron un efecto significativo para el proceso judicial (denuncia), pero no así para la implementación de medidas de protección, asistenciales, ni para la interacción entre el proceso judicial y la implementación de medidas de protección y asistenciales. Los efectos del factor proceso judicial fueron positivos (mejoría), significativos y de una magnitud grande (d ≥ 0.80) en somatización, obsesivo-compulsivo, sensibilidad interpersonal, depresión, ansiedad generalizada, ansiedad fóbica e ideación paranoide; y con un tamaño del efecto entre moderado y grande (0.50 ≤ d < 0.80) en las dimensiones hostilidad y psicoticismo. Conclusiones: Se discuten las implicaciones de la falta de efecto de la implementación de medidas de protección y asistenciales en el bienestar psicológico, así como los efectos positivos del proceso judicial (denuncia, confrontación con el maltratador) en el bienestar de las denunciantes-víctimas.
