Quinze dies a Urgain, Pioneering Translation from Basque into Catalan

Literary translations from the Basque language into Catalan have emerged, grown and consolidated in the last four decades, starting in the 80s of the 20th century, as a result of the political and cultural changes known in both territories. Before that, however, there was some pioneering translation, such as the novel analyzed in this article, Quinze dies a Urgain, written by Jose Antonio Loidi, published in 1961. Detailing the genesis and realization of this translation, we will see how the beginnings of this literary translation practice between the Basque and Catalan languages were.
