There is a conceptual leap from Christo and Jeanne-Claude’s first works to their latest projects. In this paper we have seen how they seek to transcend disciplinary boundaries in an evolution that last less than twenty years. From the late fifties to the sixties. In Christo and Jeanne-Claude, we shall find a first period when they lived in Paris. During this period, they created art in the form of an object. Avant-garde art referenced to artists such as Picasso and Duchamp. Then, in a second period, their idea of art evolved from objects to space. This change of mentality coincided with a change of residence. From Paris they moved to New York, where they discovered the possibilities of space. They worked under the influence of artists such as Pollock and the Pop-Art movement. From that moment onwards, their production exceeded any disciplinary limits. It could be given multiple definitions to categorise it - such as installation. An idea of art still alive.
