La vivienda es un artículo de consumo esencial a la vez que un indicador indirecto de las diferencias que existen en cuanto al status y nivel económico entre los consumidores. El estudio de la estructura residencial puede dibujar un mapa de las relaciones sociales que existen dentro de la ciudad, puesto que es el resultado de la dialéctica entre algunos grupos de poder y produce ganancias a las instituciones y agentes implicados tanto en la producción como en el consumo de las viviendas.
Housing is an essential consumer good; and an indirect indicator of status and income differences between consumera.The study of residential structure can design a map of social relations within the city. Residential structure source of bargaining and confiict between several power groupings and a source of profit to different institutions and agents involved in the production and consumption of housing.
