Lazos clientelares y bandos nobiliarios conquenses durante el siglo XV

Resumen

Los bandos y parcialidades surgieron en Castilla como consecuencia de los conflictos civiles y del fortalecimiento de determinados linajes dentro del contexto urbano. Durante el siglo XV, existieron en Cuenca diversas facciones en las altas esferas locales que luchaban por el dominio político de la ciudad. Los distintos linajes nobiliarios contaban con grupos de allegados o acostados, que realizaban un servicio político en la vida municipal y percibían una renta o acostamiento. Aunque con funciones similares, el grupo de los criados realizaba cometidos sobre todo en el ámbito rural y formaba parte del entorno cotidiano de los señores a los que defendía.

The bandos and parcialidades were born in Castile as a consequence of both civil conflicts and the strengthening of certain lineages in the urban environment. Over the 15th century, there were several factions within the high local spheres of Cuenca that fought for the political domain of the town. The different noble lineages kept groups of allegados or acostados, who rendered a political service within the town life and received a rent or acostamiento for it. Likewise, the group of servants was meant to carry out similar tasks, but most of all in the rural background, and they took part in the every-day life of the lords they defended.
