Abstract

The aim of this article is to clarify the existing confusion in mistakenly identify a Latin inscription of a Roman soldier of the Legio VII Gemina, Lucius Valerius Nepos, with an apparent finding in the surroundings of the Roman city of Lucentum, Alicante, when in fact it is a Roman tombstone of that personage and belong to the Roman city of Italica, Santiponce (Sevilla). Thereby must be remove this epigraphic document from the list of Alicantes’s known inscriptions.
