About the supposed presence of an inscription of the Legio VII Gemina (CIL II, 1126) in Lucentum (Alicante)

The aim of this article is to clarify the existing confusion in mistakenly identify a Latin inscription of a Roman soldier of the Legio VII Gemina, Lucius Valerius Nepos, with an apparent finding in the surroundings of the Roman city of Lucentum, Alicante, when in fact it is a Roman tombstone of that personage and belong to the Roman city of Italica, Santiponce (Sevilla). Thereby must be remove this epigraphic document from the list of Alicantes’s known inscriptions.Downloads
