Abstract

The aim of this article is to determine whether the praefecti fabrum were members of the equestrian order. Thanks to a prosopographical study of all the Spanish prefects of the fabri known to date, based upon epigraphic sources, it will be shown that they didn’t always acquire the equestrian rank.
