CRIES OF FLESH, WALLS OF FLESH. THE POETICS OF THE BODY IN ERNESTINA DE CHAMPOURCIN

Resumen

En este trabajo estudiamos las manifestaciones de la poética femenina del encarnamiento en la obra de Ernestina de Champourcin. Partiendo de las claves contextuales e ideológicas que condicionaron en el primer tercio del siglo XX las relaciones de las mujeres con su existencia carnal y que contribuyen a explicar los fundamentos externos del despliegue del tropo corporal en la obra de la autora alavesa, realizamos un recorrido transversal por las diferentes modulaciones que la corporalidad adopta en su producción poética desde sus inicios, en los años veinte y treinta, hasta sus obras del exilio mejicano, a través de ejemplos concretos y representativos de las inquietudes líricas e íntimas que acucian a Champourcin en sus diferentes etapas vitales. Ello nos permite, asimismo, observar la evolución en sus versos de la relación entre la expresión poética de la experiencia del cuerpo y la del anhelo de trascendencia, una constante de su producción lírica durante cinco décadas.

Abstract: In this paper we study the manifestations of the feminine poetics of embodiment in the work of Ernestina de Champourcin. Starting from the contextual and ideological keys that conditioned women’s relations with their carnal existence in the first third of the 20th century and that contribute to explaining the external foundations of the deployment of the corporal trope in the work of the author, we carry out a transversal journey through the different modulations that corporeality adopts in her poetic production from its beginnings, in the 1920s and 1930s, to her works in Mexican exile, based on specific and representative examples of the lyrical and intimate concerns that beset Champourcin in her different stages of her life. This also allows us to observe the evolution in her verses of the relationship between the poetic expression of the experienceof the body and that of the yearning for transcendence, a constant feature of her lyrical production over five decades.
