Abstract

The 5.0 Society has generated an impact on the mental health of higher education students, creating challenges such as emotional dysregulation (ED) while also offering opportunities to promote the development of emotional competencies (EC), considered necessary in technological evolution. the objective is to analyze mental health in the context of higher education in society 5.0, addressing the challenges and opportunities associated with the development of emotional competencies and emotional dysregulation. A systematic literature review was conducted using Scopus, EBSCO, Dimensions.AI, and Redalyc databases with the PRISMA protocol, selecting 15 articles. The study highlights (a) the increase in emotional awareness for critical reflection, (b) negative beliefs lead to avoidance and behavioral destabilization, (c) EC prepare students to face challenges of the 5.0 era, and (d) technology offers opportunities for healthy adaptation in higher education.
