Abstract

This article details the influences Lukács received from some playwrights:
Shakespeare, Ibsen, Strindberg, Hebbel, Shaw, etc. Those influences contain the first traces of his rejection to the middle class, the first revolutionary movements and later inclination towards aesthetics and ethics. The twists Lukács had during his intellectual life clearly stand out, a life that was touched by the influence of different writers in their time. It emphasizes aspects such as the reflection theory, periodicity, money, private singularity, loneliness, the connection of the public and the presence of God in the drama. In general terms it could be said that the influence Lukács received from these authors was fundamental for the development of his work.
