After comparing Madame Bovary with the romantic backdrop, the presentation of vulgarity and the space for mediocrity in the novel will be considered, in order to analyze the personality of Emma Bovary. Her personality will be defined, more than through rebellion against the social limitations of her context, through the perpetual clash between fantasy and reality, which makes satisfaction impossible.Downloads
