Atención centrada en la persona en residencias para demencia: influencia de variables organizacionales y del staff. Una revisión narrativa

Resumen

La presente revisión tiene como objetivo principal estudiar cuáles son las variables, tanto personales como organizacionales, que influyen en la perspectiva del personal de cuidados sobre el abordaje ACP de residencias de larga estadía para demencia. Se realizó una revisión narrativa basada en ocho artículos relevantes identificados a través de PubMed y NICE publicados entre el 2000 y el 2020 usando las palabras clave “Atención centrada en la persona”, “demencia”, “residencias para personas con demencia de larga estadía”, “adultos mayores con demencia institucionalizados”, “personal de atención directa” “variables del personal de atención directa” y “variables institucionales”. Los hallazgos de la revisión actual muestran que existe influencia tanto de ciertas variables personales (nivel de escolaridad e índice de burnout) como de variables institucionales (clima laboral, ambiente físico, trabajo grupal y apoyo de los líderes) siendo estas últimas las que ejercen la mayor influencia. La importancia de dicha influencia revela hacia dónde deberían estar dirigidos los esfuerzos institucionales a la hora de aplicar el paradigma de atención centrada en la persona.
