Abstract

La narración de recuerdos e historias para Kirmen Uribe sirve como un mecanismo de búsqueda de identidad —personal, familiar y cultural—, y es así como se presenta en su novela "Bilbao-New York-Bilbao". Un viaje en avión a través del Atlántico consigue conectar pasado y presente, posmodernidad y tradición, Europa y América, Bilbao y Nueva York. El objetivo es crear puentes, asimilando todo lo aprendido en la actualidad con lo adquirido a través de las generaciones pasadas, construyendo un universo literario propio, más global e igualitario.

The account of memories and histories for Kirmen Uribe serves as a mechanism of search of identity, personal, familiar and cultural, and that is the way it appears in his novel "Bilbao-New York-Bilbao". A plane trip through the Atlantic Ocean manages to connect past and present, postmodernity and tradition, Europe and America, Bilbao and New York. The aim is to create links, assimilating everything learned actually with the acquired knowledge throughout past generations, building a literary, own, more global and egalitarian universe.
