Abstract

In the last four years the Recall index increased by almost 60 0%. Automotive companies, have the certificate of management quality system according to ISO TS 16 949. The main barrier to reject parts of poor quality, is a parts inspection system, before delivery to the f inal user or assembler, called Controlled Shipment Level 2 (CSL2). The objective of this research was to evaluate, among 20 automobile companies operating in Brazil, what are the criteria and standards to apply a CSL2. Th e result shows that only 51% of actions to deploy a CSL2 are common among companie s. Thus, the CSL2, in order to become effective and to act in order to min- imize the rejections and Recall levels, it is necessary further research among companies.
