Abstract

In the study of engineering, it is not uncommon to find structures that collapsed by the occurrence of excitations that were not predicted in design. Within this branch we find the non-ideal excitations that occur when the excitation itself is influenced by the structure response. The aim of this work was to analyze the behavior of a capsule system through a mathematical model, which is based on a vibro-impact system, when excited by an unbalanced motor (non-ideal source), making the model unprecedented in literature. To perform this evaluation, mathematical theories were used as the Runge Kutta 4th Order method, the First Lyapunov stability method and Lyapunov exponents in order to detect instabilities and parameters that make the system perform a chaotic behavior, necessitating of a controller design for the correction and use of this system in practical situations.
