Abstract

Predictive maintenance techniques, and in particular those based on condition monitoring are gaining great interest within maintenance management for their interaction with the pillars of the Industry 4.0 paradigm that are being integrated into the industry. Predicting failures before they occur is one of the most important advantages of this technique that allows you to avoid unexpected stops and reduces maintenance and operation costs. The objective of this study is to present the techniques associated with the implementation of predictive maintenance in agricultural tractors and the advantages that these could generate. To this end, this paper details, in addition to the common breakdowns of the engines of agricultural vehicles and the most frequent failure elements, the methodology to implement a predictive maintenance system in the critical elements of an agricultural vehicle.
